Hints for Filling Calculator
Litres per Kilometer (L/km):
Refer to your vehicle's official website or user manual to find its fuel economy. For example, the 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid Touring lists fuel consumption rates as 4.7 L/100 km (city), 5.1 L/100 km (highway), and 4.8 L/100 km (combined). However, these figures can vary depending on factors like driving habits. For this calculation, please input the combined rate in the field. https://www.honda.ca/en/civic_sedan/specs
Cost of Fuel:
Enter the average cost of fuel in your area. For example, the current average fuel cost might be CAD 1.50 per liter. Check local fuel prices for the most accurate figure.
Oil Change:
Input the oil change interval recommended by your vehicle manufacturer. You can find this information in the vehicle manual or by consulting your dealership. For example, most vehicles recommend an oil change every 10,000 km.
Annual Mileage:
Input the total distance you expect to drive in a year. While dealerships often use 20,000 km/year for lease calculations, rideshare drivers may have significantly higher mileage. For this calculator, I’ve used 30,000 km/year as an example.
Tire Rotation:
Follow the manufacturer's guidelines or assess based on your tires' condition. Tire rotation is typically advised every 10,000 km to 15,000 km.
Brake Check:
Enter the interval for brake inspections, as advised by the manufacturer. For example, brake checks may be recommended every 10,000 km, 20,000 km, or 30,000 km, depending on the vehicle.
Air Filter Replacement:
Input the replacement interval for your vehicle's air filter. This is usually every 10,000 km, 20,000 km, or 30,000 km, depending on the manufacturer's directions.
Tire Depreciation:
Most tires have a lifespan of approximately 50,000 km, depending on the tire type (e.g., all-season, winter) and driving conditions.
