Description: Our core Beginner Driver Education (BDE) course combines flexible digital learning with hands-on behind-the-wheel instruction specifically tailored for G2-level drivers. Master defensive driving fundamentals online, then put your skills into practice with private, one-on-one in-car coaching focused on getting you road-ready and test-confident.
Includes:
40-Hour MTO-Approved Curriculum Breakdown:
20 Hours Online Theory: Interactive digital instruction covering core road safety, traffic laws, and defensive driving principles.
10 Hours HomeLink / Flexible Learning: Self-paced online assignments and practical exercises to reinforce hazard perception and decision-making.
10 Hours In-Car Training: Private, one-on-one hands-on driving lessons with a certified instructor.
MTO Certification & Insurance Discount Information
MTO Record Processing: Upon successful completion of all online and in-car course components, your graduation is recorded directly in the Ministry of Transportation (MTO) database.
Proof of Completion (DLH): Driving schools in Ontario do not issue paper certificates. Proof of course completion is documented on your official Driver’s Licence History (DLH), which can be retrieved through ServiceOntario.
Reduced Road Test Waiting Period: Class G1 drivers who successfully complete a BDE course may have their mandatory waiting period reduced by a maximum of 4 months (from 12 to 8 months) before taking their G2 road test.
Insurance Savings: The Driver’s Licence History provides proof of successful completion of and graduation from a BDE course and is widely recognized by the insurance industry as proof of course completion. BDE graduates with a Driver’s Licence History may be eligible for an insurance discount.
