MTO Certification & Insurance Discount Information
MTO Record Processing: Upon successful completion of all online and in-car course components, your graduation is recorded directly in the Ministry of Transportation (MTO) database.
Proof of Completion (DLH): Driving schools in Ontario do not issue paper certificates. Proof of course completion is documented on your official Driver’s Licence History (DLH), which can be retrieved through ServiceOntario.
Reduced Road Test Waiting Period: Class G1 drivers who successfully complete a BDE course may have their mandatory waiting period reduced by a maximum of 4 months (from 12 to 8 months) before taking their G2 road test.
Insurance Savings: The Driver’s Licence History provides proof of successful completion of and graduation from a BDE course and is widely recognized by the insurance industry as proof of course completion. BDE graduates with a Driver’s Licence History may be eligible for an insurance discount.
